On Your Toes plot

Phil Dolan Jr. is a former entertainer who now teaches music at Knickerbocker University in New York. Phil tries to convince the patron Peggy Portefield to persuade Sergei Alexandrovich, the director of the Russian Ballet, for a friendly performance in his ballet 'Slaughter on Tenth Avenue' While Sergei dreams of sharing a small hotel with his girlfriend Frankie Frayne Meanwhile, Phil becomes involved with Vera Barnova, the prima ballerina of Sergei's ballet company.
