Elektra plot
After the murder of King Agamemnon by the wife Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisth, Agamemnon's daughter Elektra and her brother Orest are sent away to the court of King Strophios, to be raised there. When Orest is an adult, he must take revenge on her mother and her lover. Elektra herself resides at court like a wild animal. Dirty and feral, she lives among the cattle, and never misses an opportunity to make her mother's life miserable. At night she tries to get in touch with her father's ghost. Her sister Chrisothemis warns her sister to be careful, as her mother and Aegist plan to lock her up, but Elektra taunts her away. Then Clytemnestra appears with her retinue. She is plagued by nightmares and in agony. Elektra lures her out of her tent with a sweet-voiced voice, only to curse her. Clytemnestra is terrified, but then two strangers appear at court with the message that Orest is dead...
