High expectations after the reviews and I searched for it for a long time. Finally saw it yesterday, but it was a huge disappointment. I sat waiting 80 minutes for suspense; it was way too slow to get going. Only the last 10 minutes were worth it for me, but that doesn't lift a movie for me. Such a shame!

A colossal failure. This was a horror film, but devoid of all horror. It looks like a movie shot during COVID, where every actor plays a small role in their own room for a webcam. A film you can watch with your eyes closed, because it relies solely on the auditory. Visually, there is nothing to experience, except that the rotating camera trick is repeated ad nauseam. The intention is presumably to prevent the viewer from leaving the room or falling asleep. Actually, this could have served perfectly as a sort of audio horror show, like the various podcasts on Spotify. I am thinking, for example, of The No Sleep Podcast, which, incidentally, usually comes across as much stronger than this film. The ending was also utterly below par. For this seasoned horror fan, A24 is synonymous with terrible movies.

Very mediocre, and that has to do with the fact that this was right on my irritation threshold; her tiresome conversations with that Justin and that terribly annoying face of that kid—it’s unbearable to watch, and certainly not when it’s the only thing the screen has to offer! That whole intertwining with the dying mother and those vague shots is also too much for me, and the film suggests some kind of "meaning" to it all again. Nonsense!
