The Closet plot
"It's calling you."
Sang-won's wife dies in a sudden accident. He has a daughter named Yi-na, but his relationship with her sours. To reconnect with Yi-na, they move to a new house. Sang-won tries to get closer to Yi-na, but it's not easy. One day Yi-na tells him that she has a new boyfriend. Sang-won hears strange noises coming from Yi-na's closet.

In terms of acting and atmosphere, director Kim Kwang-bin's horror project scores well, but The Closet falls short where similar competitors do. In this case, it's mainly the frequent use of ghosts (and the days when ghost children were still scary are unfortunately long gone), which means the viewer never feels captivated. In any case, Kwang-bin demonstrates a lack of patience and pays too little attention to building tension. As a result, the film ultimately clings to an interesting concept with well-chosen actors and a fast pace, but never manages to surpass itself in terms of quality.
