Two psychopaths, one target. A 'torture porn' that mainly excels in bad acting and a mediocre script. Not funny. Not exciting. Not original. Only the western tune on the soundtrack and the impressive hat of one of the bad guys appeal to the imagination, but cult director Larry Cohen really gives his audience too little else. Okay, only the ending is a hilarious conclusion.

MOH episode 8.
Pick me up has an excellent plot, with a lot to do. Now it is difficult to cram this into a 58 minute film, but Cohen has done it excellently in his own way. The characters are introduced sufficiently to be interesting. You look forward to the clash between the 2 psychopaths, although this is ultimately somewhat disappointing. Doesn't really matter, since the tension and atmosphere leading up to it are good. Otherwise fine, meager 3.5*.

Quite funny.
Rough start. Ugly look and mediocre acting. From the motel it gets a lot more fun. The hitchhiker and the truck driver are well attuned to each other. Delivers some nice moments.
Furthermore a bite-swallow-gone film. Not a moment of high quality, but nice entertainment.
