Night Comes plot

Climate change is finally allowing night creatures called Screechers to emerge from the earth and decimate humanity. Society has collapsed, but two young sisters, Zenaida and Samantha, have found a way to survive. In an abandoned beach house, they hide in a large, reinforced chest. After years of peace, the sisters realize that this small slice of freedom from terror is no longer safe. Before it's too late, they must find a way to travel north, where some remnants of civilization are said to still exist.
