Ingression plot

"Greatest drug in the universe...is life"

After his wife leaves him, Alexander resorts to alcohol and drugs. It's not enough to suppress the pain. He gets the address of a mysterious man who would have a solution; a strange, potent narcotic would take the pain away. For a while his life gets better and he feels good, until he realizes that dark shadows are chasing him.
