More than entertaining.

I can't comment much about the film. It was just fun to watch. Beautiful location that creates a certain creepy atmosphere. Usually in these types of films there are characters that are annoying or the acting is weak. Not an issue here. I thought the girl's performance was really believable. And I thought the man and woman of the house were beautiful with their looks. There was also some humor in the film that made it a bit light and that also worked. The kills were effective and the puppets were just cool.

A nice discovery! 8/10

Great pre-Child's Play killer doll classic from Gordon who mainly rolled out the red carpet for what would later become the Puppet Master series, one of the largest mascots for Full Moon Features. The tongue in cheek approach combined with charming effects (mix of glove puppets, marionettes and stop-motion) works fantastic and despite the absence of a truly iconic killer(s), there are enough creative moments (the soldiers) to compensate for that. Moreover, with a consistently high tempo and atmospheric Mansion setting. It's also funny to see Guy Rolfe here again, who played the role of puppeteer Andre Toulon in some parts of the Puppet Master series! That's no coincidence

Very nice!

Normally not a fan of older horror, but because the break from watching Horror KO films had to be over, I started again, and Dolls happened to be in the draw. Thank goodness, because this was fun.

Lorraine is very cute, perfect for this movie. Not another overly stubborn and intelligent child who knows everything better, but here we get a naive and fun portrayal of Lorraine. The oldies were also quite nice, but everything beyond that is not exactly great and in my opinion a bit too theatrical.

I love haunted house movies, and here that is actually mixed with almost Efteling-like fantasy. The dolls immediately reminded me of it, although surprisingly they are very, very creepy. Have to shiver regularly, and then they are atmospheric, especially in the beginning.

Some atmospheric moments with a perfectly chosen location, helped by good lighting and nice camera work. Indeed filmed as if you were looking through the little girl. The beginning is atmospheric and creepy, the second part is actually just crazy and fun.

The dolls also move remarkably nicely, not very stiffly or not at all, and this contributes well to the atmosphere. There are also some strikingly brutal and clumsy moments. This is also helped by a running time that is not too long and is over in no time, making this an ideal horror snack.

This is pure horror, simple but nicely executed. Never, really never got boring. Maybe a bit older now, but they don't make films like this anymore, unfortunately. I would love to see a remake of this again.
