Gevatter Tod plot
A poor man has a thirteenth child and cannot find a godfather. The man refuses Our Lord as godfather because he makes the rich even richer and makes the poor starve. The man also refuses the devil because he deceives and seduces people. The man meets Death and chooses him because he does not distinguish between rich and poor. When the boy has grown up, the godfather comes along and gives him the power to heal the sick, unless Death dictates otherwise. Soon the boy is the most famous doctor in the whole world, but he becomes overconfident.
