Der Bärenhäuter plot
After his discharge from the army, soldier Christopher (Bogadtke) does not know where to go. Then he meets the devil, who offers him a pact: an impossible amount of money, but only if he does not wash for seven years and sleeps under bearskins. Christopher agrees, but he soon notices that, despite his money, people are starting to avoid him because he smells so bad and looks dirty. Then he falls in love with the beautiful Katarina (Hartwig).
