Pine Flat plot
This film is the result of the director's desire to create an image of youth that is intimate, yet averse to sentiment. She worked without a camera crew and communicated directly with the children in the scenic area of Pine Flat in California. The film consists of twelve segments, filmed from fixed perspectives. In the first six parts, an activity of one person at a time is recorded, such as a boy exploring the environment with a gun. In the other six parts we see the children in groups, for example two sisters teasing each other about who is allowed on the swing.
