Le Vent d'Est plot
Cinematic essay about revolutionary struggle, deconstruction of cinema itself and, one more meta-level above that: self-criticism of the filmmakers about what they really think they (can) achieve. The Groupe Dziga Vertov takes the most dominant form of the revisionist 'Nixon-Paramount' - the western - as the starting point for this experimental analysis. Director Glauber Rocha, who has done something similar before, comes by to point the way to third world cinema. Whether it can be smashed is another matter...
