Zen plot
'Zen' Buddhist teacher Dogen Zenji is a prominent religious figure during the Kamakura period 750 years ago. After the death of his mother, he decides to settle in China as a Buddhist teacher. One summer morning, illuminated, Zenji returns to Japan as a devoted evangelist of the "new" Buddhism. Upon return, the new form is not accepted and a community tries to suppress the new form.
