Wunderkinder plot
Poltava, in the Ukraine, 1941. Abrascha and Larissa are celebrated as prodigies of classical music. They play in major concert halls all over Russia for the party and Stalin. Hanna, daughter of the German brewer Max Reich and his wife Helga, is herself a gifted violinist. She asks her father to take lessons with the Russian prodigies. Larissa and Abrascha are a bit hesitant at first. But when their teacher, Irina Salmonowa, agrees to teach Hanna too, a deep friendship develops between them, which is severely tested by the German attack on Russia.
