Within plot

"What evil lurks ..."

Rachel Weiss is a sweet girl with a troubled soul caused by a unique gift; she can see evil spirits in other people. After witnessing her mother's brutal murder, Rachel and her father move to a small town to start over. Rachel soon befriends her new teacher Abby Miller and becomes good friends with her classmate Michelle Lowe. When Michelle's penchant for jokes turns from healthy humor to something potentially deadly, Rachel suspects her friend that she isn't as friendly as she seems. Rachel's visions may hold the key to stopping some violent attacks against children and solving the puzzle behind a grisly murder and disappearance.
