"A GUSHER OF THRILLS!"
Johnny Maverick is a 'wildcatter', someone who drills for oil in areas where there is no certainty that it will be in the ground. Together with his buddy Chicopee Nevins, he rushes to Antril Bend, where a reward is offered for the first person to find oil. They accidentally find oil there and Johnny has Chicopee sell his share to oil tycoon Gus Sloane in order to buy the piece of land. But Sloane hires an old enemy of Johnny's named Mile Rawlins to drill on his part of the land. And that's the beginning of a lot of trouble...
