When the Door Opened plot
Clive Grenfal unexpectedly returns home to discover his wife in the arms of Henry Morgan. He shoots Morgan and - assuming him dead - Clive then becomes a recluse in Canada. During one of his travels, Clive meets Mr. Fontenac, an old man who lives in a castle with his beautiful granddaughter. Clive falls in love but does nothing because he thinks he is a wanted man.
