Weiningers Nacht plot
Film about the life of Otto Weininger, who at the age of 23 took his own life on October 4, 1903 in the death chamber of Ludwig van Beethoven with a pistol shot. He was a typical victim of his time: a thinker of Jewish descent who was oppressed by his repressed homosexuality and reviled by his anti-Semitic environment. This created self-hatred, which turned against women and Judaism. The young intellectual caused a stir with Sigmund Freud, August Strindberg, Karl Kraus and Alfred Kubin with his controversial book Geschlecht und Charakter, which is later said to help pave the way to fascism. It was all too much for the self-destructive mind with its Mengelberg complex.
