Weeds plot
"Feel what it's like from the inside."
The story gives a special look at the American penal system and the criminals who have to endure it. Lee Umstetter, a prisoner facing a life sentence with no chance of pardon, tries to distract his mind by reading. After seeing a theater performance in prison by a local theater group, Umstetter writes a play himself, based on the inhumane experiences in prison. He is given permission to perform the play with and for his enthusiastic fellow inmates.
