Waterfront plot
"THE DESIRES AND LONELINESS of seafaring men and their women!"
The embittered and alcoholic sailor Peter McCabe leaves his young family to return after 14 years. He expects a warm welcome, but Peter is mistaken. Especially Peter's eldest daughter Nora, now a young woman, is not very happy with her father's return. Peter tries everything, but goes too far and even kills an old friend.
