Wallenstein plot

In the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) Albrecht von Wallenstein, Duke of Friedland, managed to work himself up to become one of the most celebrated and feared generals of his time. He manages to conquer Schleswig, Holstein and Jütland in the name of the crown and this puts Emperor Ferdinand II in a good light. Von Wallenstein falls into disgrace in his pursuit of more power. Soon a net of betrayal and intrigue closes around him, and even his most loyal allies turn against him.
