"You see a baby born right before your very eyes!"

Else and her husband want a child, but Else can no longer have children because of an abortion she had before she was married. When Jytte, her friend who works in a shop and who is the mistress of a married man, tells her that she is pregnant, Else thinks she has solved her problem and wants to adopt the unwanted child with her husband. But things turn out differently when Jytte decides that after seeing the child after birth, she wants to keep it. But how will the couple's dream come true?
