Vanaprastham plot
Kunhikuttan is a Kathakali dancer, member of a low caste, and deeply unhappy. He has become estranged from his father and his marriage is not too good either. Only his daughter keeps him going. One evening, Subhadra, a high-caste woman, comes to see his performance and falls in love with him instantly. It is mutual and against the rules of the caste system they also have a son. But then it turns out that Subhadra was not in love with the dancer, but with the heroic character from the Mahabarata he played that night. She now also takes his son from Kunhikuttan.
