Tunnelkind plot

1969. The Prague Spring is crushed by the Russians, aided by the armies from the GDR and Poland. New border barriers are being erected. At that time, 13-year-old Julia (Silvia Lang) moves with her mother to a village in northern Austria, close to the Czech border. Julia has not spoken a word since her father's death. By chance she discovers a secret tunnel, which leads to the other side of the border. There she meets a worker and through his affection she will speak again.
