Torn plot

While on vacation by the sea, Sarah and David lose sight of their oldest daughter, 4-year-old Alice Hooper. When they don't find her right away, panic sets in. An extensive search, however, yields nothing, but Alice's body is never found. Eleven years later, their two other children are now teenagers, but Sarah and David are still dealing with the traumatic loss. One day Sarah sees a girl in a nearby shopping center. She is convinced that it is Alice and decides to follow the girl to her home the next day.
