This Little Life plot

Sadie and Richie MacGregor's wedding is a joyous occasion, especially when it turns out that Sadie is pregnant. But then things go wrong: the baby, Luke, is born prematurely and weighs barely half a kilogram. Doctors do everything they can to keep him alive, but act in a clinical manner, while Luke's mother develops an emotional and even transcendent bond with her child. In the end she sees more than the doctors.
