"LOVE THAT WAS FORBIDDEN . . . but could not be denied!"
This love story is set against the background of the war in Burma. Suspended pilot Michael (Dirk Bogarde) must learn Japanese to interrogate Japanese prisoners of war. He falls in love with the teacher and secretly marries her. However, he is then sent to the front.
