The Tower of Lies plot
Jan is a poor farmer whose long and hard working days are eased by his optimistic daughter Glory. When the landlord is fired, Jan is heavily in debt. Glory tries to help the family and goes into prostitution. When the villagers discover this, they try to drive her out of the city.
