The Secret Hour plot

Italian-born Tony is a prosperous orange grower in California. He finds that romance is lacking in his life. At a diner, Tony notices the waitress Amy and he falls in love with her from a distance. Then shy Tony writes her a marriage proposal and includes a photo of his handsome foreman. Despite discovering the truth, Amy reconciles and allows her marriage to the rough but lovable Tony to continue. Meanwhile, Amy meets Joe. Although Joe can't stand her at first, they eventually fall in love and secretly marry. It's not long before Amy is pregnant with Joe and Tony is furious when he finds out.
