The Scar plot

1984 in the British mining region of Eastington. Like many other women, May Murton, now 50, was active in the fight against the closure of the coal mines. However, she couldn't stop her husband Tony from getting fired, started drinking and left her with their children Becky and Dale. At the annual miners' ball, May falls in love with Roy, the director of the new opencast mine.
