The Rendezvous plot

In the Russian Empire, Prince Sergei and his wife Varvara are exiled to Siberia by Tsar Nicholas II. Varvara dies giving birth to a daughter, Vera, whom her father entrusts to the care of a friend. Eighteen years later, Cossacks invade the country. Walter Stanford, an officer of the American Expeditionary Force, Siberia, rescues Vera from a Cossack raid on a shrine, but she is forced to marry a Cossack leader.
