The Ninth Cloud plot

"Even Reality can't stop Zena."

Zena (Megan Maczko) was once a brilliant physics student who is now on the run from her past and looking for hope in love. She finds it in Bob (Michael Madsen), an American expat, artist, poet and benefactor. When Zena tries to show her charity to impress Bob at a swanky party, she catches the eye of Jonny (Jean-Hugues Anglade), once a celebrated pianist who now takes refuge at the bar. Jonny's quest for affection and Zena's zealous optimism brings out the best in Jonny. As Zena continues to long for Bob, she realizes that she has given Jonny the hope she desperately sought. She leads Bob and Jonny in a cat and mouse game while trying to avoid her rigidly privileged background.
