Most successful.

Starting to catch myself that this genre is also growing towards me a little more, but with the help of a few actresses and actors I'm curious about. In this case, Britt Robertson is the actress I set him up for.

That's why I got "meaning" in the film beforehand, which made it a bit easier for me to get into the film. It also helps that the film manages to grab the right chord and, at a number of moments, makes you feel real. And because of this, towards the end, but also at other moments, I occasionally got a lump in my throat.

That I, a MovieMeter whiner, got a lump in my throat is also quite rare, and you know that you have done well as a film. Robertson is very enthusiastic and although she is sometimes a bit American and basic, she is acting with full conviction. Eastwood can't compete with that, and often doesn't quite get the emotion across completely. But for a women's film, it is of course an ideal ingredient.

Some spectacular bull scenes, where the cameras on the bulls help to increase the effect. The 139 minutes seem to be long in advance, but at the pace it goes by so quickly. The film actually had me hooked after minute 10. Stories that this man tells are always compelling.

Too bad that the film is a bit basic here and there, and as expected, very sweet and predictable. If you don't think about that too often, you really do have a nice genre film.

I didn't get around to crying, but I had become completely silent in the meantime. If that happens in a movie, then the score for me is often automatically higher. Then I know that the film has succeeded in its concept. Nice film and a strong performance from Robertson. But keep an eye on it.

A film with about as many positive and negative things to criticize. The locations are beautiful, the acting is fine and I thought the two love stories worked side by side. The latter is perhaps less apparent, because only one of the two stories is widely displayed on the posters. I certainly didn't think it was out of place. On the other hand, it is typical Sparks and that the necessary clichés are pulled out of the closet again. It doesn't do much for the credibility and the characters are all too perfect. The playing time is also on the long side, so I occasionally wandered off in between. It's still fun enough to sit out though. In the end, it's a pretty standard, yet mostly solid, performed romantic drama. Fans of such films will surely enjoy this.

3*
