The Investigation plot

A detective with 20 years of service, James Buanacore, begins the most important investigation of his life when a drug raid has a tragic end. The suspect's death forces James to give up the job he loves and retire. When Stephanie, James's wife, has another miscarriage on top of that, he begins to question his strong faith. Depressed and angry, James isolates himself until his brother persuades him to take a job as a criminal justice teacher and baseball coach at a Christian high school.
