The Humming Bird plot

Under the name "The Humming Bird", Toinette is the leader of a gang of thieves in the Montmartre section of Paris. American reporter Randall Carey falls in love with her. The Great War breaks out, Carey enlists, and Toinette inspires her gang to fight for France. Toinette, arrested for giving her loot to the church, is imprisoned. When she hears that Carey is badly wounded, she wants to escape and reunite with him.
