The Glass Mountain plot
An aspiring composer, who is shot down as a pilot for the RAF during World War II, is rescued in Italy by an Italian woman. Once he returns to his wife in England, he begins to write an opera inspired by the events. While writing, he discovers that he has fallen in love with the Italian.
