The Eagle's Mate plot

The Mornes are a family of mountain people in Virginia. The head of the family, Abner Morne, runs an illegal liquor distillery. His son Lancer goes to college, but is soon forced to return when his father is arrested. Meanwhile, the young woman Anemone is kidnapped by Fisher Morne, Lancer's cousin. Lancer fights Fisher and wins. He forces Anemone to marry him, but she leaves him, saying that they are only married on paper. But when the police also turn out to be after Lancer, Anemone must make an important decision.
