The Dream Merchants plot

New York 1912. Young Johnny Edge and movie theater owner Peter Kessler co-founded the movie company MAGNUM. Full-length 'silent' films make the cash register ring. Kessler's daughter Doris is in love with Johnny, but she falls for the ambitious Dulcie. Shortly afterwards Johnny goes to the First World War as a volunteer. But on his return, he notes that Kessler is not evolving with modern life. After all, the old man is still convinced that a great future awaits the 'silent' film.
