The Diviners plot

Sonja Smits plays Morag Gunn, who lost her parents to polio at a young age. She grows up in the family of a garbage collector in the Canadian provincial town of Manawaka. For half a century she has been searching for her own identity. Her life is deeply influenced by the passionate relationship she has with novelist Jules (Tom Jackson) and her rebellious daughter Pique (Jennifer Podemski). As the situation with her daughter continues to escalate, Morag looks back on her life to understand how it got to this point.
