The Builder plot

A carpenter of Irish descent leaves Queens, New York, for the American countryside to work on a reproduction of an old American style house. But he is struck by an inexplicable form of fatigue. However, debts and expectations continue to pile up and the builder becomes increasingly alienated from the world around him.
