The Boost plot

Lenny Brown moves to another city to invest his fortune in tax-free investments. When the federal government changes the law, Lenny is suddenly $700,000 in debt. When his friend Joel introduces him to the world of drugs, he becomes addicted to it. He realizes that he will have to stop and battles his addiction.

The film has the merit of pointing out the extreme dangers of drug use.
Although the film as a whole is rather mediocre, James Woods still delivers a very dynamic performance.

Good film about a New York salesman who tries his luck in Los Angeles. A not very original and not very subtle, but entertaining rise and fall story. The first half is more a film about the capitalism of the 80s and the second half an anti-drug film. James Woods is well cast and makes the film for a large part. A small 3.5 stars.
