The Argyle Case plot

Bruce Argyle hires famed private detective Alexander Kayton to investigate the murder of his father, multimillionaire John Argyle. Argyle's adopted daughter Mary Morganis is the prime suspect, until Kayton's investigation reveals that Hurley, a former trust attorney for Argyle, is actually the notorious counterfeiter Kreisler. Hurley previously served a 20-year prison term. Hurley, who is still involved in criminal activity, threatens Bruce with death when he learns that he wants to hand him over to the police.
