Tenement plot

After the death of her mother, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, hoping to connect with her distant family and gain inspiration for her work. Everything goes well at first. She rents an apartment in Metta, a dilapidated residential complex from the time of the Khmer Rouge, and is welcomed with open arms by her mother's side of the family. Soriya's waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as if she is a conduit for the horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.
