Szyfry plot
After receiving a letter from his son Maciek, Tadeusz, who has lived comfortably in England for twenty years, decides to visit his family. Although he is a veteran of the First World War, he cannot really understand the Polish horrors of the Second World War. Maciek tells him nightmares about his experiences with the underground, and his wife is in a clinic because she cannot cope with the disappearance of their youngest son. Tadeusz goes to investigate Jedrek's fate, of whom one photo still exists, taken at his communion party. Despite shredded information, it is not clear whether Jedrek was killed by the Germans or executed by the resistance for fear of treason. Maybe Jedrek is still alive? All the stories Tadeausz hears seem like cryptograms.
