"Everyone is talking about Synanon House... Where Dope Fiends Fight Their Way Back"

Zankie is an ex-con and drug addict who is in a rehab center. He has a lot of trouble with the strict rules that prevail there and the only bright spot in his life is his blossoming relationship with the ex-whore Joaney. They leave the center after Zankie gets into a fight with another patient. Soon after they leave, however, Zankie turns to drugs again.
