Such a Long Journey plot

"A country on the brink of war...a family torn apart...and one man in the middle"

India in 1971 is engaged in a fierce battle with Pakistan over the millions of refugees from Bangladesh who are flowing into the country. In Bombay, Gustad Noble works as a bank employee. One day, he receives a letter from an old acquaintance asking him to pick up a package from a bookstore. He discovers that there is a large amount of money in it and then it becomes clear that the old acquaintance is involved in dangerous illegal activities.
