Stardust plot

Lily Becker, the daughter of middle-class parents in Iowa, always aspired to be a musician, but receives little sympathy from those around her. She is forced into an unhappy marriage with Albert Penny, the son of wealthy parents, whose cruelty proves unbearable. She flees to New York, is saved from starvation by a kind chorus girl, and gives birth to a child, who dies. On the verge of suicide, she meets the young composer Tom Clemons in Central Park, and their friendship blossoms into love.
