Smitty plot
13-year-old Ben (Brandon Tyler Russell) has done it again...and his single mother (Mira Sorvino) has had enough of his misbehaving. Ben can choose between being admitted to a re-education institute or spending the summer with his grandfather Jack (Peter Fonda) on the farm in Iowa. The day after his arrival at the farm, he already wants to leave. Jack decides to buy him a dog to give him some company and keep him in line. Ben quickly learns important life lessons about friendship, family and responsibility.
