Sirokkó plot
Marko is the leader of a group of Croatian anarchists. He is forced to flee from Yugoslavia to Hungary. The Hungarian government protects him, but he is never sure whether his stay in the woods is actually a shelter or a disguised prison. Maria is also in the same hiding place, but she may be a spy. Then there is the whore Ilona, she was made available to Marko by the Hungarian government. At some point, the Hungarians decide that Marko will have to be killed in order to placate the Yugoslavs while continuing to protect the anarchist movement.
