Signorina Effe plot
Born in a working-class family near Turin, Emma Martano works as a computer scientist at Fiat. She has worked hard to graduate in mathematics as an emancipated woman and is now about to marry Silvio, a widower with a daughter. In September 1980, Fiat announced it would lay off 15,000 workers, leading to the longest strike ever, lasting 35 days. During the strike, Emma meets the worker Sergio, with whom she has a short-lived relationship.
